New USCG support positions open to USCG Auxiliary Members

The recently formed USCG Sector Boston (the amalgamation of the former 'Group Boston' & 'MSO Boston') is expanding their marine surveillance activities and is looking for support from the Auxiliary in that effort.

Two positions are currently defined and ready to be filled by Auxiliarist volunteers:

Vessel Screeners

  1. Assesses every arriving vessel, determining the need for 'Port State Control' boarding, and assists in targeting vessels for security boardings.
  2. During ramp up no security clearances required.
  3. Need at least 5 to 7 volunteers.

Assistant Container Inspectors

  1. The buildup of the Sector Boston container inspection program integrated with 'Customs and Border Protection' provides the opprtunity for Auxiliarists to participate in the creation of this large impact program.
  2. Need at least 3 or 4 volunteers.
