The Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) Program - www.cga.edu/admissions/summerprogramsforjuniors/aim.htm - The Coast Guard Auxiliary is involved in the Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) and seeks out juniors in high school who would like to investigate a career as an officer in the United States Coast Guard. By sending young men and women to the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, for a week during the summer between their Junior and Senior year, the Auxiliary helps them get a taste of Academy life, and an opportunity to experience first hand the Academy schedule and what it’s all about. This is a "Try it before you buy it" introduction to life as a 4th Class Cadet at the Academy. To qualify competitively for this program, students need to be in the top 20% of their class, be math and sciences oriented and have taken either PSAT, SAT, or ACT. Candidates from the Division go before a Division Review Board where a primary candidate is selected and invited to attend the program in New London.

greater benefit than educating a child, who later saves another child through
this interactive education program. It is by far one of the most
rewarding efforts that you can make when you link to Coastie's Homepage. Years
and years of experience are involved in the Coastie Team Members, dedicated to
teaching children water and boating safety. Who knows, the child that links to
Coastie's Homepage may be the child that is saved.
